Activities

We've been guiding on Montana's waters for over twenty five years. ExperienceNice Brown has shown us that in our region there are really only three rivers that deliver outstanding fly fishing with consistancy: the Stillwater River, the Yellowstone River, and the Bighorn River. However, these hotspots are not always hot at the same time.

For example, the Stillwater and the Yellowstone are subject to mountain snowmelt in the spring. Translation: cold, muddy, unfishable water. But the Bighorn, controlled by Yellowtail Dam, stays clear and fishes well during spring runoff. Much later in the season, the Bighorn "mosses up", but the Stillwater and Yellowstone flow clear; all offer tremendous fly fishing when they're "on".

Swaying with the rhythm of the seasons, we are able to identify when and where the fishing is best on these three great streams. All you need to do is grab your gear and get ready for some great fly rodding!

Guides and Equipment

Only the best. That goes for our guides and our equipment. We feature 16' Mackenzie boats for floating large rivers and 13' rafts for smaller water. All Specially fitted drift boat our boats and rafts are equipped with front and rear swivel seats and are designed specifically for fly fishing.

Our guides have plenty of experience working these rivers. We are all licensed professionals and truly love what we do; most of us have worked as guides and/or fly casting instructors for over 20 years.

Accommodations

Motels, hotels, bed-and-breakfast inns, and area guest cottage accommodations are available, but please give advance notice (about a month, if possible) if you're allowing us to make reservations. Transportation to and/or from area airports is optional.

Location

We're strategically located near the Stillwater River in Fishtail, MT about 20 miles south of Columbus, MT. We're open year round, but during the summer months we're Locator Map more than likely on the river. The exception is weekends which will usually find us at Logan International Airport (Billings Airport). We do check in during the week to update our logistics, so don't hesitate to contact us by "snail" mail, e-mail, or by phone during the summer.

Let us take the guesswork out of your next fly fishing trip. Our expert guides and outstanding fishing will make this an unforgettable experience! Scroll down to the address below to receive a free color brochure and current rates or make a tentative reservation now.
